Take Heart! Calliope Spring Concert 2016

Come out on May 14th and 15th as The Calliope Feminist Choir takes the ARTS/West stage with special guests the Local Girls, Jim Wachtel on piano, Eddie Kruse on piano, and Bruce Dalzell on guitar. A light reception follows each concert. Tickets available at the Farmacy, Blue Eagle, as well as Calliope members and at the door. For last minute information, please call 740-818-9245. General admission, sliding scale $10-30; limited income $2-10. Overflow parking is available at the Athens Middle School. 

It's Gonna Be MAY! Which means Community Yoga is this Sunday!

Come out to ARTS/West for the monthly session of Community Yoga! Classes are always on the first Sunday of the month, noon-1pm and free for ARTS/West members (for as little as $30 a year you can become a member!) or a $5 suggested donation for non-members. Lobsterfest 2016: Free Live Music

Stop by ARTS/West on Friday, April 22nd for the annual Lobsterfest presented by ACRN media. The show begins at 7:30, with various artists such as Wished Bone, Adia Victoria, Ryley Walker, and Waxahatchee performing. The show is entirely free, so come out and enjoy some live music!

Athens Jazz Festival

Come to ARTS/West on April 15th for the first performance of the 2016 Athens Jazz Festival. Saxophonist Chris Madsen joins the Ohio University Jazz Faculty & Guests for a night of free and open music for the public. The evening will also feature the Ohio University Jazz Ensemble II with Sean Parsons directing. Doors open at 7pm, donations are welcome and appreciated. Knitting and Crochet for Babies and Kids

This class has been CANCELLED due to lack of attendance. 
Nancy and Nadine are planning on presenting the class in the fall, so stay tuned! 

Nancy and Nadine will be teaching this 8 week class featuring instruction in both knitting and crochet for 6 different projects. The class will focus on beginning and intermediate knitting & crochet but new learners are welcome. The session as a whole will be geared toward making items for babies and kids, which is a great way to complete small projects and learn new techniques. The designs to be taught will include: bib & washcloth, toy, booties, blanket and sweater. All patterns will be provided before class and a new project will be started each week. Support and instruction for both ongoing and new pieces will be available each week. To sign up click the following link:

Fee: $42 for all 8 weeks ($6 per week for drop ins)

ARTS/West Presents: Pianist, David Nevue

Come to ARTS/West at 7 pm on Saturday, April 23rd for a one night only concert with David Nevue. David will be playing a mix of fan favorites from his many albums and sharing the stories that inspired the songs! Bring your friends and enjoy an evening of music that will delight and inspire you.
