About Us

ARTS/West is currently utilized by multiple theater companies and music education groups, two arts-enrichment summer camps, an after school program, three choirs, two art guilds and a university creative writing group, along with countless individual artists, community members and local craftspeople - with new events being added all year long.

There are ongoing classes for Belly Dance, West African Drum, Bando Yoga, Knitting and Children's Music as well as workshops and clinics on a wide variety of topics. Through both rentals and sponsored events there are performances by both local and visiting artists & musicians (including special showings for school children), as well as monthly art shows in the gallery featuring local & regional artists, along with private parties, and larger annual events such as the Cat's Pajamas Clothing Exchange, the Athens Area Fiber Faire and Athens Own Pop-Culture Convention: Ratha Con (held at the Community Center with satellite events at ARTS/West & Athena Cinema).

It is through the above partnerships and shared resources that ARTS/West carries out its mission, to make arts experiences accessible to all.
