About Us

ARTS/West is currently utilized by multiple theater companies and music education groups, two arts-enrichment summer camps, an after school program, three choirs, two art guilds and a university creative writing group, along with countless individual artists, community members and local craftspeople - with new events being added all year long.

There are ongoing classes for Belly Dance, West African Drum, Bando Yoga, Knitting & Crochet, and Children's Music as well as workshops and clinics on a wide variety of topics. Through both rentals and sponsored events there are performances by both local and visiting artists & musicians (including special showings for school children), as well as monthly art shows in the gallery featuring local & regional artists, along with private parties, and larger annual events such as the Cat's Pajamas Clothing Exchange, the Athens Area Fiber Faire and Athens Own Pop-Culture Convention: Ratha Con (held at the Community Center with satellite events at ARTS/West & Athena Cinema).

It is through the above partnerships and shared resources that ARTS/West carries out its mission, to make arts experiences accessible to all.
