Oh, Deer! I've Lost My Head is an analog collage series, reflecting the solo journey through various facets of the human condition. Frequently, not feeling very human at all, people can react like a deer in headlights, blinded and frozen in fear until the inevitable crash. Mostly, folks are able to narrowly avoid a collision and persevere to savor the sweet, mundane, and extraordinary moments. These moments are made even sweeter by enduring the sourness life has to offer.
This collection was constructed by combining three separate components (head, body, background) to create one new image. No digital imagery or digital manipulation was used in the creation of these works. Elements of each collage were meticulously hand-cut from magazines destined for the recycle bin and placed in frames sourced from local thrift stores.
