A Weekend-long Celebration of the Arts and Music of Athens! Presented by The Athens Municipal Arts Commision and the City of Athens, along with the Hocking College School of Music.
Friday, August 17th (5:30-7:30pm), at The Athens Uptown Parking Garage Athens Photo Project Youth Wheat Paste Exhibit Opening Reception "Me and Mine" Featuring live music from Large Mouth Brass Band and food vendor Holy Guacamole.
Saturday, August 18th(12-9pm),Union Street Main Stage (brought to you by Hocking College School of Music) WESLEY BRIGHT and THE HONEY TONES, Mourning (A) Blkstar, Adam Remnant Band, Hellnaw, Mobile Home, Stella, Ugata West African Drum & Dance, OVST, and more!
Saturday's Union St. line-up includes local and regional music, art, poetry, and dance on the main stage; Food vendors, Dr. May's Thai Kitchen and Cajun Clucker, and a beer garden (run by Stuart’s Opera House) featuring Jackie O’s beer; And the street (Union St. btw Congress & Court) will be lined with Athens Art Guild vendors selling local creations, and local non-profit arts organizations hosting art activities and info tables.
The weekend will also feature LIVE MUSIC at Casa Cantina, Donkey Coffee, Jackie O’s and The Union! (schedules coming soon) With: Large Mouth Brass Band, No Plastic Flowers, Coal Cave Hollow Boys, County Pharaohs, Slugg, Weird Science, Mobile Home, Red Lake, Slagpile, Caitlin Kraus, Slackluster, Peach Fuzz, Bret Anderson, Steve Zarate, Tail Winds, and many more.
The 20-year ACMF tradition continues with live music all over uptown Athens. Proceeds from these stages benefit Stuart’s Afterschool Music Program, Arts West and The Gathering Place!
Come join us for a night of drumming & dancing! The space is open to all levels and ages. The circle is not limited to drums, any and all acoustic instruments are welcome. Parking is free on the street and in the lot. Bring your own refreshments - food and beverages (I.D. Required if bringing alcoholic beveages). MORE ABOUT THIS DRUM CIRCLE... This is a safe space where you can come to be your truest self. This is an intimate environment where you can put the worry of your days away and become one with the rhythm. Whether you drum, dance or just listen and take it in, there is a place here for everyone. There are no rules to participating in the sound. Even if you have never played an instrument, pick one up! There are plenty to borrow.

This class is the final class in a series of three Herbal Medicine-Making classes taught by herbalist Hannah Stewart through the Appalachian Ohio School of Herbal Medicine.
Hannah has five years of herbal experience, including an apprenticeship with Lauren Genter of Ancient Roots Botanicals, years of intensive self-study, and her current apprenticeship with clinical herbalist Caty Crabb of Wildfire Herbs and the Appalachian Ohio School of Herbal Medicine.
Each Medicine-Making class will be a three-hour hands-on workshop in the performance space of ARTS/West in Athens, OH. You will leave with a valuable handout, an herbal remedy of your own crafting to enjoy at home, and the confidence to make more products on your own.
HERBAL TOPICALS will be a thorough exploration of herb-infused products that you apply to the skin for moisture, protection, and healing. In this class, Hannah will demonstrate and explain the process of making:
-powerful herb-infused oils using several different methods, including the intermediary solvent extraction method -healing salves made with herbal oils and beeswax -nourishing herbal lip balms -moisturizing & healing herbal lotions and creams
Workshop attendees will participate in a DIY Massage Oil Station, where they will get to choose from an assortment of ingredients to blend their own luxurious herbal oil to enjoy at home!
$25-40 sliding scale, including the cost of all materials.
