Drop Spinning with Heather De LaPena and Helene Willson
Saturday September 30 from 3pm to 4pm
Sunday October 1 from 2pm to 3pm
In this class you will learn the basics of how to make your own yarn using the portable, affordable, and versatile drop spindle. Learn the parts of the spindle and the mechanics of turning fiber into yarn, then take some time to practice with the guidance of experienced spinners. Spindle kits containing a Turkish spindle and practice roving will be available for $25, or you may bring your own supplies. This class is offered on both days of the faire and are 1 hour each .Each of these classes has a limit of 7 people. Money for supplies will be payable to Heather. Basic Knitting with Nadine Borovicka
Saturday September 30th from 11am to 1pm
Sunday October 1st from 3pm to 5pm
Nadine Borovicka learned to knit and crochet from her Nana at the age of ten. She picked the crafts back up in 2006 and hasn't looked back.
Students taking this class will learn the basics of knitting. This includes basic materials, terminology, casting on, knitting, purling, increases, decreases, and casting off. The class will begin with the basics of teaching these techniques without trying to make anything. This will allow the student to learn the process and work through experimentation without "ruining" a project. As students feel they have a grasp of those techniques, they will move onto their first projects. Students will need a pair of size 8 single point needles, one skein of 100% cotton yarn. These can be bought beforehand by the student or from the instructor. Students are also welcome to bring yarn and patterns they would like to receive advice on (difficulty level, terminology explained, etc.) If you do not bring your own materials, the materials fee of $10.00 will be payable to the teacher at the time of the class. Beginning Crochet with Katie Evans
Saturday September 30th from 1pm to 3pm
This class will offer instruction on beginner crochet. Students will learn a simple baby bib pattern teaching single crochet, slip stitch, chain stitch, increase and decrease, joining a second color and crocheting a border. Supplies will be offered by the teacher and the materials fee is $10.00 per student. There are 7 spaces for this class. Please contact Katie to register for her class at email@example.com.
Wool Appliqué with Mary Roediger
Sunday October 1st from 12:30 to 2:30
Natural and renewable, wool is a wonderful fiber and easy to work with. This class will look at the history of wool appliqué work and penny rugs. You will learn the stitches used for wool appliqué and use them to create your own pincushion with wool fabrics and threads.

Fiber Dying with Marti Dolata
Sunday October 1st from 1pm to 4pm with a break.
In this class students will learn the basics and some intermediate skills for dying fiber and yarn. Marti will provide the instruction on color choice, materials, fiber options and brief history of natural dying. Student will be producing their own dyed items in class so dress accordingly. The material fee for this class is $25.00 and this can be payable to Marti on the day of the class. Students who wish to take this class as a lecture but not participate in dying may pay just $5 for handouts. Please email Marti to register for the class at Martimagdolata@gmail.com.
Beginning Needle Felting with Missy Whaley
Saturday September 30th from 10:30 to 12pmMissy will be teaching a simple doll/ animal needle felting workshop. We will look at nursery rhymes, pick one, make a felted doll or animal that will accompany a demonstration of how to tell the rhyme with a child. This class will be good for teachers, parents, aunts, uncles or grandparents as well as people interested in beginning felting.
