Bucket Brigade: Community Air Testing

Friday May 10th, from 6 to 8 pm, there will be a public presentation at Arts West by international air contamination experts GCM--Global Community Monitor.  For the first time, residents in Appalachian Ohio will be trained to test the air they breathe! Bucket Brigade will be holding an informational meeting on air testing and the work of Global Community Monitor. This meeting will inform the public on local air and water quality issues and updates on whats happening with fracking and injection wells in Ohio.

In addition to the free presentation Friday to community members, elected officials and the medical community, GCM has committed to train and equip a local team of air quality monitors and will provide technical assistance and supplies for ongoing testing in areas where Bucket Brigade team members live.  Athens is fortunate to be the first Ohio community to receive the GCM training.

There will be reserved seating in the front of the auditorium for those in the medical professions and those who hold public office, and there will be time for questions both in the forum and individually with Ruth Breech of GCM, Molly Rauch of Mom's Clean Air Force, and Teresa Mills of Center for Health, Environment, and Justice.
