A free music event for school age kids every second Saturday of each month (Sept.-May) at noon -1 pm. Second half of event is always an open stage for any kids, solo or group, to share instrumental or vocal music--if you choose. Or just listen and enjoy!
The March 'Front and Center' on Sat. March 10 from Noon until 1 PM will host a unique performance by Dan Dennis.
Dan Dennis has spent the better part of two decades making theater with music and sound. For Front and Center, he will present excerpts from his improvised musical astronomy extravaganza, STARBALL. A unique participatory theater event usually performed under the controllable night sky of a planetarium, STARBALL has played for ten years around the country and in Spain and will return to Chicago's Adler Planetarium this April and the Hayden Planetarium at the American Museum of Natural History in New York City this June. Dan is currently a fourth year doctoral candidate in the School of Interdisciplinary Arts at Ohio University.
Kids Fun Day @ ARTS/West Saturday March 10, 2012, 12:45pm-4pm
This a creative collaboration between the Appalachian Progressive Education Center (APE Center), Creative Endeavors Workshop (CEW) and ARTS/West

The children will put together a "clutter collage" made from disposable items used in everyday life. They then will explore alternatives to using disposable items as well as solutions to the overall sustainability of the planet. Session led by Chelsea Goettge of APE Center
The children will have the opportunity to relax for a few and have a snack if they have brought one with them. We will not be providing snack.
The children will generate new patterns of thinking through the use of voice, movement, and acting. This is done to help the children find their voice. Session led by Shiloh Morganstern of CEW
3:30-4:00- Clean up and wrap up
These sessions are free of charge. We will gladly except donations to help raise funds for ARTS/West
