Awesomeness All Around

Hey Everyone! Ashley reporting. For those of you who don't know, I'm the Events Coordinator here at ARTS/West. Wow, we've had quite a summer so far! It has been amazing having so many interns and work study students. (Normally, its just Emily and me but now there are 3 of us in my tiny office!) They've really been awesome. Besides having less crowded offices, I can't imagine what Emily and I would have done without them! So, if you're in the area, you should stop by and meet one, or all, of these fantastic individuals!

Speaking of fantastic....we have gotten some truly amazing donations this summer. Room 8, our resident craft room, is going to be stocked to the gills by the time we get everything organized in it. We've received construction paper, a ton of fabric, cardboard tubes, recycled plastic containers and so much more! Room 8 isn't the only room that's getting an upgrade. We received a dresser with a mirror for the Green Room as well as some metal shelving units! In addition, a collapsible round table was donated for general use throughout the facility! The generosity of the individuals who donated these items, and those who have donated other items in the past, is truly incredibly. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

If you want to see some pictures of the donated craft supplies in action, if you will, check out our Facebook page (! Emily posted pictures of "The Team" participating in KidsMania at Trimble High School. We made rain sticks out of the cardboard tubes and masks out of construction paper and paper plates. We also attempted a game of baseball but that didn't go so well. That may have been because we were using a long cardboard tube as a bat and a large plush ball as the baseball. (We're very resourceful.) The baseball game was fun while it lasted though. All in all, KidsMania was a success. A good time was certainly had by all.

Please don't forget, we always want to hear from you! So stop by, shoot us an email (, Facebook stalk us (, or give us a call at 740-592-4315. And don't get discouraged if the phone rings and rings...just leave us a message and we'll get back to you!
