Third Annual Aquabear County Fair Showcases Ohio Music, Film, and Art

Athens based Aquabear Legion, a group of musicians, bands, artists, and filmmakers from Ohio is holding its 3^rd annual Aquabear County Fair on the weekend of March 5-7, 2009. in Athens, Ohio.

The weekend features thirteen bands playing at three different venues on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night in addition to ARTS/West's piece of the pie: an Ohio film Festival at ARTS/West on Saturday, March 7^th at 2pm. ARTS/West will also be holding a local art show curated by the Aquabear Legion as part of the weekend's festivities.

The Aquabear Legion is currently an incubated program at ARTS/West working toward becoming a non-profit that works toward promoting local music and creating a network of creative individuals in Ohio. The Legion hopes to create awareness of the great music being made in Athens and the rest of Ohio. The County Fair is now in its third year and is the Legion’s biggest yearly event. In addition to the Fair, Aquabear hosts a monthly concert series at ARTS/West, produces compilation of Ohio music, and publishes a magazine called The Aquabear Reader which focuses on music, art, and film in Athens and across Ohio.

Your Lost Flamingo Company has joined forces with ARTS/WEST to present a night of Broadway showstoppers to raise money for the New Floor Campaign at ARTS/West! Come to ARTS/West, hear some crazy talented vocalists as they belt out the best Broadway hits, and help us reach our goal to install clean and renewable Cork Flooring in ARTS/West.

The cabaret includes songs from "RENT", "URINETOWN", "HAIRSPRAY", "WICKED"... and many more!

Proceeds will benefit both Lost Flamingo Company and the ARTS/WEST New Floor Campaign!
