To the community:
ARTS/West would like to express its deepest appreciation to O’Betty’s Red Hot! and all of the contestants who participated in the 5th Annual Hot Dog Derby. This year’s derby was a fundraiser for ARTS/West and one of the most successful we have seen!
Thank you to Bob, Corrie, Ryan and the entire O’Betty’s Staff. Thank you to Casa Nueva! And especially we wish to thank the biggest fundraiser for the event Kevin Smith of the Oak Room. Mr. Smith raised over $1,000.00 towards our organization and we are deeply grateful! We should also note that Mr. Smith ate an impressive 17 hot dogs!! Kevin Smith was joined in his efforts by Kari Smith, eating for the Union who raised over $600.00, as well as: Jamie O’Nail of Snider Fuller Porter; Johnny Clift of The Makebelieves and Jackie’Os; Ben Frech of the OU Library; and Matt Hull of the Athens Fire Dept./Youth Hockey, Don Kincaid, formerAthens County champ; Eric Hedin of the Athens Do It Yourself Shop, and The Denim Demon. The Community has truly spoken for the arts in Athens and we look forward to serving individual artists, art groups, theaters, etc for many more years to come.
