Athens Municipal Arts Commission Hosts A Town Hall Meeting on the Arts
The Athens Municipal Arts Commission will host its annual Town Meeting on the Arts on Tuesday, April 17th at 6:45pm at ARTS/West.
Members of the Athens Municipal Art Commission will present an annual report of the arts and introduce initiatives for 2007, including presentations on:
Percent for Art
Local Mural Legislation
the Athens Uptown Arts Market.
“Athens has long been recognized as one of top art communities in the country, and this meeting is way for us to continue to value and honor the arts not as a luxury, but as an integral part of life in Athens”, says Carol Patterson, City Council member and Chair of the Athens Municipal Arts Commission.
The public is invited to attend, and the program will include an opportunity for community input and suggestions. In addition, the Studio for Young Actors will offer a sneak peak rehearsal of their upcoming performance of "Annie Jr".
Refreshments will be provided.
