Fall Classes and Workshops

KIDS IN ACTION
Children will experience basic principals of: acting, social skills, teamwork, communication, multicultural awareness. The workshop focuses on the process more than on a final product.
Led by: Dominika Adamova, M.Ed.: 15 years teaching experience, director, playwright, actress of the Bear Educational Theatre, Czech Republic, professional British Council teacher trainer using drama techniques in education, has worked with children of all ages in different countries around Europe as well as in the United States.

Kids in Action 1 (kids 5 to 8 years)
Time: 5:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m., Date(s): Aug. 28-Dec. 11th, Day: Monday, Fee: $45.00

Kids in Action 2 (kids 9 to 12 years)
Time: 6:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m., Date(s): Aug. 28-Dec. 11th, Day: Monday, Fee: $45.00

IMPROV YOUR LIFE
This workshop will help you and/or your child develop skills like: Communication, Confidence, Listening, Problem-solving, Reflexes, Imagination, And of course it will be a heck of a lot of FUN!!!

Youth Class (8-15): Time: 3 to 5.
Adult Class (16 and up): Time: 6 to 8.
Dates: August 21st, 23rd, 25th, 28th, 30th and September 1st.

FAMILY OPEN MIC NIGHT
Show off your pipes, tell a joke, mime! Do your children (and maybe even you, too) need a creative outlet? Join us and cheer everyone on for fun-filled nights in the performance space. Be our guest as a performer or audience member.
Time: 6:30-8:30, Fee: $1.00 (participants), $2.00 (audience), Age: 0-99, Date: Sept. 7, Oct. 5, Nov. 2
Day: Thursday

YOUNG PLAYWRIGHTS PROJECT
Learn the basics of dramatic structure using fun exercises, group projects and individual instruction as you write a short play. Guest speakers will enhance the learning experience. All students will receive an entry in HUMBLE PIE: Appalachian New Play Festival and their own public reading at the festival.
Ages: 11-15
Dates: Sundays, August 13, 20 & 27
Time: 2:00-4:30
Where: ARTS/West
Cost: $45 includes light refreshments and materials.

Call-in registrations will be accepted during appropriate registration dates 8:00 am-8:00 pm Monday-Friday with a Visa or MasterCard at (740) 592-3325. A participation waiver must be signed for a minor prior to participating in the first class. Walk-in registration will be accepted for activities and classes made during appropriate registration dates and times, as listed.

Please remember that in order to have a class, registrations must be done early. If there are not enough participants registered, classes will be canceled and registrants will receive a refund or credit.

Cancellations: Programs are subject to change in location, date, time and/or personnel. Every effort will be made to make up cancelled programs dates.
